It was a great experience to stay at palace estate. All the places near to it are great and worthwhile watching the butterflies, bats, different birds and insects were interesting to observe. The rare plants like cassava, avocado etc were exciting to watch. The rare species of plants which are economically imp were knowledge fetching. Food was excellent and nutritious we wish all the very best to u r fly.

My stay here has made me so Lazy that i feel like saying ditto to all the comments feedback u have got in this book. I request u to keep this rich tradition going for generations to come so that my grand children can experience the rich cultural heritage of coorg and the Kodavas. Also pls keep the place untouched by unnecessary luxuries. Let it remain pure and pristine for all nature lovers.
Hats off to the Apparanda fly for the great homestay experience of my life. Keep it going forever and ever...

Arvind Kamat & Anita – Bangalore – Oct 14th 2010

Thank u so much for u r hospitality. The food has been excellent .The Coorg people are delightful and i have learned much about the environment and the Indian way of life which has enriched my stay. Sadly it has been a short one. Best Wishes

Fiona Coombe – London – Sep 10th 2010

Coorg has always been close to my heart. Each visit has been unique experience. The home stay with Vincy and Prasad has lived up to its name - homestay. The food, hospitality and the ambience.
One can soak up in nature to its fullest and that’s what we did walking down to Kakabe, visit to temple and the food. The rain was blessing after the smeltering heat of visakapatanam.A monsoon visit was an experience i was looking for and PALACE ESTATE provided that.I am sure to be back soon.

Shyla Kurma – Vizag Aug 31st 2010

I read through the earlier comments to get a hang on what needs to be written.I did a draft writing on my sheets to make sure i start well. Finally,i realised that a place like this and people like u are enough to make any person skillful to write.Nothing in my experience so far was as pleasing as the night on which u guys called up to warn us about the heavy rains. How often do we see people being so genuinely concerned about visitors safety?. I am extremely thankful to u people for having taught us the core value -TO CARE FOR OTHERS.
That apart u people shine bright when it comes to hospitality ur smiling faces are so warm that u made us feel like a home away form home.

Ararna and Ajith - Bangalore Jul 12th 2010

We loved the stay at u r homestay, which truly lives upto it's name. You were the most hospitable hosts i have ever seen and will definitely return, for u r home stay if not for coorg. The food was amazing!! I wish u could take over all hotels / homestays in India.

Gary P J - Bangalore – May 5th 2010

It was an uniquely pleasant experience at palace estate!. We arrived at this wonderfully beautiful place as strangers, but were soon completely at home, thanks to warmth with which we were received & treated by the palace estate fly.

We are struck & impressed by the humility & dignified conduct of the fly. Now that the time has come to say "good bye" we have the same feelings in the heart as we do when we bid good bye to our dear ones.
Maybe we will be drawn here again in times to come to enjoy warm hospitality of the palace estate family. God Bless the fly.

Rajan Bhatikar – Goa – April 16th 2010

Thank u very much for the pleasant stay i am having at PALACE ESTATE. The plantation walk was fascinating. At last i got a chance to see some of the food i buy in France is growing from where. The reality of the life in a plantation.
The food is fantastic.Couple of suggestions
1.Sell coffee/cardamom/pepper from the plantation which is interesting.
2.Road Signs
3.Cooking lessons
I am going to enjoy my last day here and i am looking forward to come back with my girlfriend in future. Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality.
All the best.

What a great way to be introduce to South India, especially after the overwhelming sounds and sight of Bangalore. Beautiful rooms, mind blowing View, fantastic food, great landscape and last but not least great hospitality from Prakash poovanna's family. Many Thanks !

My time in Coorg was the highlight of my 3 weeks in Southern India. It was such a pleasure to get away from the noise and dust of the cities and spend time in lovely surroundings with first-class hospitality. I shall spread the word about Palace Estate on my return home.

First of all many thanks for giving us the opportunity to come and stay in Palace Estate for 4 days. We all were overwhelmed by your hospitality , service, caring attitude. We were at most touched by your warmth & homely food& homely atmosphere provided to us. Thank you for everything & for making our trip such a memorable experience.
Wish you & your family continued success , peace & prosperity .

This is probably one of the best vacations we've had in a really long time. It does not get better and closer to nature than this. The treck to "Thadiyandamol" is amazing, the route quite sceneic, definitely strainers but not tough for first-timers. The views along the treck are really beautiful too, although we could not see Arabian Sea from the top; it being so cloudy, the walk was worth it. The sunrise and sunset views are too good.
Mr Prasad had been extremely helpful in everything we have asked for. The food is superb.

8th February 2006, Vivek & Sneha Srivastav, INDIA

Gracious hosts, great food, sceinic trails - what more can you ask for. I could spend days here sitting in the verandah looking at the distant hills and the sky, sipping coffee, and reading a book. Sometimes in the life there comes a time and place, which completely takes you by surprise and leaves a lasting impression; the "Palace Estate" is one such destination, which gave me not just relaxed soothing experience, it gave my peace, knowledge of culture. Hosts truly amazing. Looking forward to come back. Thanks to Prasad, Vincy, and everyone in the estate for their hospitality.

22nd January 2006, Kailash, Arun, & Subhadip - MUMBAI, INDIA

Thank you very much for your kind hospitality and the friendly & cordial ambient you provided us all with. Being here has been great !! Will be back soon !!

I am coming to the end of my 9 month world trip, but its only since staying 3 weeks at Palace Estate that I am switched off and relaxed. The effortless hospitality, patience and good humour shown by prasad, vincy to all guests is remarkable as is the homely & welcoming atmosphere. The food is outstanding, until I visit again next I will be salvating at the thought of grapefruit chutney , radish chapattis and payasam. It's a fortunate thing that I'am blessed with a fast metabolism and unbelievable greed. In respect to the guests, I have met some lovely people, although one or two have clearly spent too long in the Indian sun. I want to thank everyone here. If not next year, the year after I will return.

What n amazing place ! This is just what we needed after being in busy Indian cities ! The wonderfully natural rooms, great food and great company of your family was so refreshing. The chance to talk to all of you was so special. This place holds a special place in my memories & is on the list to do again. The clean air and peace were wonderful. Thank you very much for allowing us to experience your lives !

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay at Palace Estate. I came here hoping to stay for 3 days but ended up staying for 10 days ! such was the impact of nature in the area- the beautiful peaks, forests, plantations, streams, flowers and wild life- as well as greatest hospitality offered by your family. I think this blend of nature & traditional , heartfelt hospitality is unique & irresistible & Palace Estate will always be one of the best places I have stayed during my travels in India and abroad. I greatly appreciate the way in which the Apparanda family blended their traditional 'Kodava' lifestyle with a 'homestay' that is ecologically friendly & that respects the surroundings- the wonderful western ghats eco-system- which is one of the top 10 ecological hotspots of the world. The fantastic food 9 Such as rolled up pancakes),the beautiful décor of the rooms, the willing hospitality of Prasad+ Vincy, the marvelous coffee will always remain in the memories.

I congratulate you on the immense efforts that you have put in to creat such a nice place & I am sure that Palace Estate will continue to become a very famous & unique place indeed. I hope to back as soon as I can.

This is an unbelievably beautiful place. I loved the birds, mountains, forest , waterfalls. I have never, in ten years of traveling in India, experienced such a warm welcome, hospitality and good food as that provide in Palace Estate. I feel truly blessed to come to this place. I shall be back.
Ps. The sunset jeep trip is amazing and truly recommended.

26th October 2005, Marie Kristina - LONDON

When stepped out of the car around 19.00 hrs and saw the golden full moon next to the coconut tree, I knew I arrived at the right place. The warmth, the hospitality, personal attention and excellent home food is something I never came across during my travels any where in the world. Thank you very much Prasad, Prakash and especially Vincy for welcoming me into your warm family.

We are so happy that we decide to come to Palace Estate, even if it was too short, we are happier still that we choose this place. Everyone traveling through South India stop here to see a very different India than that you see in the big cities. The food was delicious, the scenery was lovely, and the hospitality was the best we have experienced in India. Moreover the advice on local sight seeing and custom made maps made our visit here much more enjoyable. Thanks so much.

Palace Estate has been a wonderful stop on our trip through India. A beautiful house, lovely garden, beautiful mountains ,view from the room gave the feeling that we are in heaven. we feel truly blessed with the opportunity to come and enjoy the stay here, getting to know a wonderful family and their culture. It was nice to be around family & eat home cooked food when we've been away from our homes for so long.

It,s been most interesting to learn about so many things- Coorgi hokey matches, cardamom plants, Kodagu kings and the lifestyle in general. We have had a great time and well miss everything- your warm hospitality, the lovely food, the views, the hills, the waterfalls, the coffee bushes, the winding roads….. till next time.

Many thanks to Prakash, Poo and all the family and staff for a truly wonderful, but too short stay of 2-3 days. This little corner of India is a heritable Garden of Eden. We really enjoyed the company of all the family & other guests. Thanks for also the education about coffee, cinnamon, pepper, citrus, papayas….and for all the beautiful sights and fragrances we experienced. Absolutely delicious food. We,d like a recipe book for all the dishes- currys, chutnies…Above all, thanks for your great hospitality. We shall be back soon.

Just loved this place; the absolute, perfect place to be with nature. Nothing matches the kind of hospitality, the kind of beauty surrounding you all the time, the food which reminds of your home. We spent here just one day, so memorable… that we are carrying the sweet memories of this place with us & hold it to our heart always…..

We won't exaggerate if we say that we have been searching for heaven for ourselves & finally we found it here in Palace Estate. Wish to be back at the earliest… I want to thank my husband Ankit for showing me the heaven we have always dreamt about.
Take care and All The Best guys… You are too good.

This has been a little home in paradise. We are tearfully tearing ourselves away. It's doubtful we will find anything that compares to what we found here, in our future travels. The most wonderful family, most welcoming hospitality, endless smiles of stunning landscape, and an array of four-star meals.
Thanks from the heart.

If paradise excites our earth, it must be at 'Palace Estate'. We are very sad that we had such a short stay here. I could happily stay here for several more weeks. Very friendly people & relaxed atmosphere. The family has been very accommodating and helpful with all sort of information. The natural beauty of the area is outstanding and offers many opportunities for great walks.
